I started sewing back in 2007 after I attended two cons, MTAC 6th period 06 and MTAC Prime 07. I was first introduced to cosplay at 6th period and created a cosplay of Kai from Beyblade in two days. (horrid costume!) Afterward I bought a cosplay of Allen Walker for Prime. I eventually fell so in love with cosplay that I got a sewing machine on my 15th birthday. And that is where all this craziness started.
Why cosplay? Well, I’m actually kinda anti-social and very shy around new people. (Even though I’m a total dork around my friends) But, when I’m in costume I tend to be more like that character and interact with others more often. I guess you can say that its my outlet in life, I can be as crazy as I want and no one will care.
I’m majoring in technical theatre for costume design at APSU. Yes, cosplay does seem strange and childish, but hey, life’s too short to live like an adult all the time!
